Asphalt shingles are still the right call for most Greater Toronto Area homes — when they're installed properly. We replace tired, leaking and storm-worn roofs with architectural shingle systems built for the freeze-thaw cycle that wears Ontario roofs out early.
The work itself
A Hakim shingle roof is a full system, not just a top layer. We strip the roof to the deck, replace any soft or delaminated plywood, and lay ice-and-water shield along the eaves, valleys and penetrations before a breathable synthetic underlayment goes down. Then come the starter strip, the field shingles nailed to spec, new step and counter flashing at every wall and chimney, and proper ridge ventilation so heat and moisture can leave the attic. Every valley is woven or cut clean, and every nail is where it should be.
Problems this solves
Most of the roofs we replace weren't old — they were installed in a hurry. Nails driven high or crooked back out and lift shingles in the first big wind. Skipped ice-and-water shield lets meltwater push back up under the field and stain ceilings every January. Reused or bent flashing leaks quietly for years before anyone notices the drywall. We fix the roof and the reasons it was failing in the first place.
Why Choose Us
Why choose Hakim Roofing & Exteriors
The same team handles your job from the first inspection to the final nail sweep — the people who quote the work are on the roof while it's being done. We diagnose why the old roof failed instead of just covering it over, we protect your landscaping and drive, and we leave the site cleaner than we found it. And because we handle the eavestroughs, soffit and fascia too, the whole roof edge gets finished tight in one visit.

If your roof is past twenty years, curling, or losing granules into the eavestroughs, it's worth a look now rather than after the next storm. Book a free inspection and you'll get a straight answer on whether you're looking at a repair or a replacement — and a written price with no surprises.
